La línea La Rosa de San Diego rinde homenaje a una zona de Cuba conocida como San Diego de Los Baños. Esta zona se encuentra en el límite occidental de la conocida provincia de Pinar del Río. La región es famosa por sus aguas termales sulfurosas, pero también contiene un suelo rico en minerales, ideal para el cultivo del tabaco. A partir de 1883, la región vio surgir la primera de muchas fábricas de cigarros. Existe un vínculo con la región a través del presidente de American Caribbean Cigars, Damián Tapanes, cuyo linaje paterno... Se dice que está “profundamente arraigado en la tradición de la fabricación de cigarros en San Diego de Los Baños”. Con La Rosa de Sandiego, Tapanes se propuso crear un cigarro impregnado de la tradición cubana.
